eBay is finally going to make it's final shark

jump. Aside from the wave of third world non-paying bidders, they are going to eventually force every seller into taking "managed payments."
What does that mean? The buyer will have the merchandise for 24+ hours until the funds are released into your bank account. eBay and Pay Pal are separating and everyone will be migrated to "managed payments" sooner or later-I am already there.
Example, I sold a DVD set last night via Buy It Now to a buyer in New Jersey. My eBay dashboard indicates "paid" by the buyer. I get it packaged and ready to ship and then start to ring up the sale. Looking at Pay Pal to calculate their fee, there is no paid transaction. I had to go back to eBay's new and 100% unnecessarily complicated home page and search for the payment. You guessed it: "Pending." I am required to ship within 2 business days in order to remain a "Top Rated Seller." (That gives me higher discounts on fees) So, to maintain the TRS status, I have to ship this item roughly 2-3 days before I have possession of the funds. Only a fool would do business like that. We're talking about a $10 DVD set. I have some $1000 Burris scopes for sale that I will be taking down immediately because I'm not willing to have them "floating" out there without bankable, spendable, funds. Imagine having a $1000 knife floating around in payment limbo....
Luckily, Gunbroker has picked up on this and is adding more and more non-gun categories for items. Sure, they have always had knives, etc, but now they are getting into game consoles and such. Their fees are lower and you don't have to get paid through a service that charges you for the convenience.
(I'm not associated with eBay or Gunbroker, BTW.)
