Pipe freezing question...

So I replaced 110 feet of water supply line to my house. I have a passthrough area in my foundation where the line is within four inches of the soil surface. I am running 3/4 inch pex. I have read that 1/2 pex is harder to freeze because water runs through quicker. It seems to me that the larger cross section of 3/4 line would make it more difficult to freeze. According to my maff, the area of 3/4 is more than twice what 1/2 is. Even if 3/4 partially freezes, the slush should quickly flush out.
Is my reasoning sound? What says the hive?
